DreamCatcher/Equus Endowment Fund
Creating a natural habitat for wild horses,
a humane retirement for companion horses.
The monetary goal of the fund is $300,000 and will provide two years resources critical to establishing the sanctuary as self-sustaining. The fund will have three facets
1. Provide capital for equipment to manage the physical property and animals
Tractor with implements, flatbed truck, atv , stock trailer, tools and welding and shop equipment and chute system for handling wild horses..
2. Provide capital for sustainability: get hay fields operational with new irrigation motor, seed, fertilizer and cut/bale/stack outsourcing.
3. Replenish fund: as the sanctuary becomes more secure the fund will be replenished
DreamCatcher has the land (1200 acres with another 500 leased and more available), the animals (just over 100 Pryor Mountain Mustangs and 70 domestics) and the expertise. What is needed now is the capital to move the sanctuary forward from start-up to an efficient, effective, and accountable operation.
DreamCatcher is a tax exempt community–based animal welfare organization with active interests in local economic development through employment opportunities at the sanctuary. All donated funds are completely tax deductible. A donor ROI report will be issued every six months.
This fund is a cutting edge opportunity for donors to participate in the shaping of how sanctuaries of the future will be funded and managed. The Association of Sanctuaries is aware of this effort and will be following the results carefully in order to determine if this type of funding can help establish other emerging sanctuaries.
